|
|
Good day
I understand we can replicate the entire OS using Volume Shadow Copy,
only if source and target are identical servers.
But we have 2 different hardware platforms
Is it possible to create a Virtual Machine VHD file of our main server volumes,
then mount it with hyper-V or VmWare on the second server,
and use ViceVersa to replicate the entire OS,volumes, disks from main to second server ?
In order to provide quickly second server high availability to the end-users,
if main server is out of order ? (disaster recovery plan)
Many thanks for your expertise |

Hi, I do not think it is possible as the second server has different drivers , etc. ViceVersa can replicate data / files, but some application settings will be hardware dependent. thanks _________________ --
