Hi
I'm trying to migrate a server 2003 file server to a server 2008 server.
I'm using Vice Versa Pro, i have tried using the replication and backup (mirror t o source target) option.
I am using vv pro on the 2008 server and copying from the 2003 server.
Files are copying fine but the original sharing and security information is lost.
Can vice versa pro copy these attributes?
is it suitable for this type of migration. |

Hello, yes, ViceVersa can copy all permissions. Do root source and target folders have the exact same permissions to start with?
thanks _________________ --

Hi
The target drive has no directory structure as it is a new partition.
It has the same ownership and permissions as the source, however i keep getting this error " cannot copy file - This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object." |
