|
|
I never had this problem during the many years and on many platforms that I have used this product until today. I just installed ViceVersa Pro 2.5 Build 2515 64 bit. I upgraded from build 2509.
Now, once the execution starts, following the file compare, the window panes in the file compare window, both for source and target, both turn black.
If I cancel the execution, the execution window takes on the title execution summary. As soon as it does this the contents of the file compare window panes reappear.
If I only run a Compare, this does not happen. But at any time the execution window switches to "Execute: etc." the window panes in the file compare windows turn black and stay that way until execution is stopped or completes by itself. Once the execution window reverts to displaying summary information, the window panes return to normal.
I have uninstalled build 2515 and reinstalled build 2509 and the problem persists.
What needs to be done to correct this problem? It used to work properly and it should still work correctly. Something happened when build 2515 was installed. Nothing else was changed on this system during this time. NOTHING. No windows updates or any other software updates were done.
I tried something additional:
If I cancel the execution, then close the execution window so that the summary window appears, as stated before, the contents of the file compare window panes reappear.
If I close the summary window, I can now work in the File Compare window. If I click on the execute button in this window to resume the process the execution window reappears, the process continues, but now the contents of the file compare window panes remain visible. |

Looking back at the purchase history, I have been using this product since 2008, which was Viceversa 2.
That was on windows XP.
I am now using the product, and have been for the last 2 1/2 years, on a laptop running Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit.
I have never seen this problem before until I installed ViceVersa Pro 2.5 Build 2515 64 bit yesterday.
Bear in mind, the onset of the problem came with the installation of build 2515 yesterday. As stated in the original post, I uninstalled build 2515 and reinstalled build 2509, but the problem persists. I reinstalled build 2515.
Simple analysis says: last thing changed = culprit = build 2515.
When the software transitions from my clicking on the "compare and execute" button and it then displays the "Execute" window, it does something to the existing screens. That is where the problem is. In that transition. Period. |

That's weird ... but I think installing the latest build and the problem showing up is a coincidence as there are no changes regarding display in the latest build. Do you have any other Windows 7 PC where you can test this? We cannot reproduce this issue on our computers. thanks _________________ --

I am working overseas. I don't have another laptop to experiment on. I have a computer at home that I tie into using LogMeIn for purposes of backing up my files to the home location. I can update the version of ViceVersa Pro running on it and try this, but it is Windows 7 Home version 64 bit, which is not exactly the same as this laptop.
Also, the internet connection here is poor. I'd probably have to wait until the weekend or late at night to try this. |

Hi, we were finally able to reproduce this issue on Windows 7. A recent Windows Update must have changed something... this issue is new and happens now after a recent Windows update (do not know which one at the moment)... _________________ --
