|
|
Attempting to copy any file from local drive to network drive connected to Linksys WRT54G router mapped to Z: in Win XP Pro running ZoneAlarm results in "Cannot create or replace "Z:\____". Network access is denied." error. Deactivating ZoneAlarm does not alleviate problem. Directly connecting network drive to XP machine does not alleviate problem. As copying files to said network drive results in displeasing amount of non-1:1 duplicates, fear there might be a need for software such as ViceVersa, but do not wish to have to constantly go back and forth and check individual files until they match. Assistance appreciated. |

Hi
Cannot create or replace "Z:\____". Network access is denied.", does this happen with all files?
Can you copy / delete files to the z:\ drive using Windows Explorer?

Yes, to both questions.
Interestingly, when I access the drive with FTP in Windows Explorer, it is unable to display unicode filenames, whereas it can when accessing the drive as mapped to z: (But I think the FTP is more careful about how it transfers the files, so has fewer, if any, discrepancies...) |

Have a similar problem. Only folders are copied to target. With all the other files i get error messages: "cannot access file...". I am using a "Landrive" with FAT32 file system and WinXP on my Notebook.
Any suggestions? |

File copy with VVPro 1.3.1 starts, but gives error of 'Can not change attributes of 'Z:\_______''. The file could not be accessed.' during CRC check. Upon ignoring the error, then refreshing the file list, the files with CRC mismatches on Z: were deleted. Rerunning the synchronize results in the same error. |

works fine, only it always asks me for a password to enter the landrive - though there is no password needed. i have to cancel the dialog each time and then it works. |

ok, now it gets complicated:
as i wrote the first posting i had my old landrive with a new firmware-update installed. this is when vv was not able to copy files. meanwhile i had a hardwareproblem and i had to change the landrive with a new one (one with an old firmware). here vv (1.3.1 and 2010) could copy files, but i had problems connecting without password...
Today I made an upgrade of the firmware and the password-problem did not happen again - but now i have the old problem - vv (2010) does not copy any file and only creates folders on the target.
And another problem I found (with both firmware versions) is an error message, when I try to use "shadow copy" (could not load ...,dll). hmmm?! |

Exactly what error message do you get (it is in the log file as well). I'd like to see if I can go back to the code and see where it is failing with the new firmware. What model /firmware of drive are you using ?

Wen you activate shadow copy VV needs the files vssdll03.dll and vssdllxp.dll in the same folder. If you are using the test stand-alone build 2010 pre-released version you may not have these two DLLs in the same folder. _________________ --
