The windows task scheduler offers the option "Run task as soon as possible after scheduled start is missed". Because VVScheduler is a specialized GUI of the normal task scheduler I suggest that you add this option to the according tab of the task properties in VVScheduler.

Would this be possible? It would be very useful for me because I have a lot of tasks which run just once a week - and sometimes my pc just sleeps on that day! So no task would be executed on the next day without this option. Of course I can add this option directly in the windows task scheduler, but it would be more comfortable in VVScheduler.

Hi, thank you for the feedback, I have added this request to the list of possible improvements for future releases, thanks!
BTW check the VVEngine add-on too as an alternative scheduler:

I am also using VVEngine for other tasks. But VVEngine has some drawbacks. E. g. it is not possible to use the link "open in VV"when it runs as a service:
"Unable to open ViceVersa profile from browser when VVEngine is running as service".

BTW There is a bug in VVEngine: It is not possible to view a log for a run:
"Invalid SIG value. Please close this window, go to the VVEngine home page and refresh the page."

Yes, that's because when VVEngine is running as a service it does not own a "desktop" where it can open ViceVersa.

It's a security feature. VVEngine creates a signature each time, and it wants to make sure it's still the same user. In that case it asks to refresh the page. But it should not happen too often.

thanks

I cannot view the log of a run even if I refresh the page. Of course I refreshed it first before I wrote this comment.

see for a screenshot (why are not attachments possible in this forum?):

Thanks, OK, that should not happen... please try completely closing the web browser and restarting please if you have not done that yet.
Then, does this happen for all profiles or just for a specific profile?
thanks

PS: sorry about the attachments, we have had to disable them to avoid some people spamming the forum.

Thanks for the hint. It seems to be that only one profile is affected by this error. The log file of this profile can be viewed with the VVLogViewer. Can I resolve this issue somehow? Shall I delete the log?

BTW Why can the logs only be viewed through the help of your tools? IMO a logfile should be viewable even with Notepad.

Hi, no problem, you can view the logs with any program you like they are text files. Can you please try renaming the profile that is having this problem with SIG signature? Maybe the profile name is causing the issue. thanks

I renamed the profile and now it works because there is no '+' character in its name...:

working:
Mirror_N-Backup1-ATI-_h2_und_M-Softwarearchiv-h2-CD-Archiv___2___V-SyncsArgon_Samsung_500.fsf

not working:
Mirror_N-Backup1-ATI-_h2+M-Softwarearchiv-h2-CD-Archiv___2___V-SyncsArgon_Samsung_500.fsf

I had some difficulties to display the log files correctly because they are encoded in UTF-16 without BOM. Meanwhile I found the appropriate option in UltraEdit to display the log so that it is readable.

Thanks for your support! (BTW Will the task option I asked for be included in the next version? I think this option is very important.)

You did not include my requested option in the latest build of ViceVersaPro. Why? It's an important option, not a nice to have.

Tasks have to be executed as soon as possible when the machine has been suspended at the time of the task. It's a common feature of the windows task builder. You don't have to implement anything important, just a checkbox!

I would understand that you hesitate to implement it if you would use an own task scheduler, like Acronis.

Hi, unfortunately it is not an easy task to add this option, because Windows does not make this option available to third party schedulers based on the Windows Task Scheduler. In our own scheduler VVEngine, this option is available please see:
http://www.tgrmn.com/web/vvengine/vvengine.htm

thanks

I think that it is already possible to configurate this option. It is available since Windows 8.1/Server 2012, see Technet "New-ScheduledTaskSettingsSet"

The property of the object 'New-ScheduledTaskSettingsSet' is called: 'StartWhenAvailable'

Could you add it to the VV task scheduler?
