|
|
Use VV Pro to backup to external hard drives for both a desktop and laptop, using three separate drives for the two computers. All has gone well for over a year. Yesterday VV stopped during backup of desktop and computer froze while copying a file. Restarted and same thing. Used another drive, same thing. Tried the backing up the laptop ~ same thing.
Reinstalled VVPro and problem continues.
Help!! |

Good morning,
Both computers are on Windows 7 and both have VVPro 2.5.
One computer is a desk top that I use at home and the other is a laptop that I use when I travel.
I use VV to backup my User files to a external hard drive and then use that to download User Files to laptop. When I return I do the reverse. This has worked perfectly until Sunday. At that time I was backing up the DT which stopped copying files at Hallmark Cards. After a few attempts I deleted Hallmark Cards which made no difference. Same thing happened when I tried to backup the LT.
The process starts OK and then stops while copying a file and it is not always the same file.
Richard
PS Just tried with a new external disk on the DT ~ User Files to Backup. Process started and stopped at Copying "AppCore.Resources.cdf.ms" (1.47KB). I let it sit for quite a while and then used Control Alt Del to get out. Tried to backup LT and had the same result ~ same file too. |

Good morning,
From what I could discover the Log file was not activated. I checked of Logging and put in a new disk at tried backup. Compare and Delete worked and then it froze during copying.
Here is what I can find in the Log Report

After copying stopped I tried to remove the disk and could not so I had to do a shut down via the power button.
I am going out of town for a week tomorrow afternoon. I hope we can get this resolved before then and I apologize that I am not very well versed in this area. I really appreciate (and need) your assistance.
Richard
PS Just figured out how to send Logs, but had to do it as an attachment to your regular email. |
