|
|
I am have difficulty employing the email notification feature in Pro 2.5. I have checked out my specs over and over and get a "timed out" message. I am on Windows 7 and have tried the Verizon.net stmp server and the Juno.com smtp server. About 4 weeks ago this feature also stopped running on my ViceVersa 1.3 version after having no problem with it since I installed it 3-4 years ago. Just don't know.
While attempting to change some of the parameters I also encountered "Security handshake failed - 220 2.5.0 Go ahead with TLS negotiations" message. No idea what this means. Very frustrating. |

Hi, do you have other applications sending e-mails via those SMTP servers? Do you maybe need to allow your account at Verizon.net and the Juno.com to use SMTP e-mails? GMAIL for example now requires that the user explicitly allows SMTP. thanks _________________ --

Yes, I use both accounts and send messages via Outlook from both of them as I indicated in my original message. Again, this feature was working until four weeks ago in version 1.3.1 and now it does not work in 1.3.1 or 2.5. 1.3.1 uses a script I copied from you 6-7 years ago and I tried to used the built in feature on 2.5.
Cay you explain what the Vice Versa error message I am getting as I mentioned earlier? Is this a general time-out message or something more specific? |

The windows Script Host message indicates:
Line: 75
Char: 1
Error: The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available.
Code: 80040211

Also, can you please explain what the error message below means? The box indicates it is a ViceVersa error.
"Security handshake failed - 220 2.5.0 Go ahead with TLS negotiations" |

The only message I am now getting is "The connection timed out" while it is trying to authenticate the pop3 server. I'm just totally baffled. |
