|
|
We're evaluating VVPro, to sync files between 2 servers.
VV is installed on SERVER1.
Our SOURCE target is local folder.
Our target is network folder on SERVER2, accessible from SERVER1.
So far so good.
While monitoring traffic, we noticed quite increase of TRAFFIC on both servers.
Definitely, we expected increase in traffic through PRIVATE connection.
However, we also noticed increase in traffic through PUBLIC connection.
Is that normal behaviour? |

Hi, ViceVersa will only transfer data between source and target, if they are both on the private network, that's where you should see the traffic. It's strange that you see increase traffic on the public network? Can you shut down the public connection as a test? thanks _________________ --

Yes, traffic matches to VV sync. |

Hi.
I'm admin, who is evaluating and testing your synchronization software between these two web servers BiEmme mentioned before. They each have two LAN interfaces, one for HTTP traffic and one for backend traffic (SQL, BACKUP, etc...)
I recorded traffic with Wireshark for both PUBLIC and PRIVATE interfaces, and when sync is occurring (scheduled or manually), I can see that it is communicating through both interfaces.
Have you experienced any similar situation in past, any idea how to resolve this issue?
Your software is really great and works as we expected, but I really don't want to send all sync traffic through public LAN. |

Hi, the sync will send data only over the connection between SERVER1 and SERVER2. Not sure why you are seeing traffic over LAN, unless some other is software is doing that while ViceVersa runs? Maybe cloud backup? As a test switch off temporarily the interfaces that are used for HTTP traffic and you should see ViceVersa will keep working fine. Let me know how it goes, thanks! _________________ --

We managed to solve the problem last week by disabling NETBIOS in advanced settings of PUBLIC network interface, now everything works as it is supposed to.
Thank you for help.
