I saw an earlier post for the same message, but their issue seems different from mine. I have a ~200GB folder struction that I am replicating. Everything has inherited permissions that grants the service account running VVEngine permissions full control. When the job completes, I have several files that have an error in the log, which is always in the same format:
Copying file \\?\UNC\path1\file.jpg <to> \\?\UNC\path2\file.jpg (3.70MB) (Overwriting) ... [Can not change attributes, time or date of "\\?\UNC\path2\file.jpg". A device attached to the system is not functioning.] [Error] Unable to remove temporary file \\?\UNC\path2\~vv1.tmp [ERROR].
The permissions and attributes on these files match those of files in the same structure that copy successfully. I've also been able to manually copy the files from the source to the target, but still see the errors in my logs.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John |

Hi, thank you for posting on the forum. What type of systems are the source and the target folders? Does this error happen always for the same files only or the same folders?
thanks _________________ --

The source is a Windows 2008R2 server, and the target is a CIFS share on a NetApp. The errors happen on the same files every time. |

Thanks, can you try enabling the option: Copy directly to destination file (do not use a temporary file). The option is in profile settings -> advanced settings. I am wondering if this is a problem with renaming the temp file that ViceVersa uses while copying. thanks _________________ --
