Guys,
I’m evaluating your product because it has a “no rescan target” option. The problem with 99% of the software of this kind is that they all have to compare the source with each target. If the target server is located on the other side of the world and the WAN is slow this makes it impossible to sync source with targets when large numbers of files are involved.

Your product is on the right track and gets me closer to what I need but it would be great if you would consider a “multi-target blind-copy” option. Here’s the use case:
I have an library of CAD parts containing many thousands of files that are updated/add/delete to on a daily basis. This library is modified in only one location (source) and then distributed to many different mirror servers (targets) across a global WAN (which is very slow). I am looking for a VV option that would allow me to set a source location and then set as many targets as I need. Since all the targets are identical I just need a blind-copy/delete to those targets (with no target scanning). As VV currently is, it requires me to setup a profile for each target and doing an initial scan of those targets and then a rescan of the source for every run. This could take many days and is not very efficient. However, having a multiple-target blind-copy option would reduce the number of profiles to just one and since none of the targets have to be managed or scanned this would greatly simplify the sync process while providing optimal performance.

Hi, thank you for evaluating ViceVersa. Just to clarify, in your situation, is the source rescanning taking a long time or the scanning of the targets? thanks

Only source sees a rescan because it is the only location where changes are permitted. VV is running on this server so rescan only takes a few minutes during each task run. No rescan of the target(s) is necessary or desired because they are located globally around the slow WAN. It's assumed that target(s) are modified by VV only and seen as read-only data by the users at those target(s).

You could view all this as follows: Source = the place where changes are made. Target(s) = an updated reflection of source that is read-only.
thanks again..
