I am using VV 2.0 (deciding whether to upgrade), and just compressed a file with a password. I tried accessing the file with 7-Zip, but I can't open up the file. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi, was it compressed and encrypted or just compressed? I tried version 2.5 and the compressed files were OK when opening with 7zip. thanks

they were both compressed and pasword protected. I want to be able to create a back up file compressed that I can send to someone else with password protection. Is that possible to do with 2.5?

Hi, if it's encrypted then only ViceVersa will be able to open the files. If it's compressed only then you'll be able to use zip-7 too. thanks

ok, that's too bad. Any thought of updating that soon? I'd rather not be dependent on having a copy of viceversa in order to open an encrypted file. For example synchback software uses standard zip for compression and password. i'd rather stick with vv since I have been using it for many years, but this seems like a significant limitation. thanks.

Hi, I have added this item to our list of possible improvements for next releases. I think it would be a useful feature. thanks

I, too, would like to see support for ZIP encryption.
