Hi
I am evaluating a real-time system that can copy files to a destination folder even while the file is open. I downloaded VVPro, and VVEngine 2.1 and set up the profile as following:
1. Use Windows Shadow Copy. (need this as I can't impact the source file - there are other processes writing to the file constantly)
2. In the VVEngine, I checked "Run Immediately when change detected"

But I discovered that it always delay around 10 seconds before the target file get updated. My scenario is that
1. Open a notepad text file in the source folder, add a line, and then save (but not close the file).
2. Open the file in the target folder, noticed the new text not there. Then after around 10 seconds, open it again, see the new text.

Any help is very appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, there are two settings in VVEngine that impact the real-time copying functionality, see page 20 of the manual:

<< After First File Change is Detected...
This option defines the VVEngine behavior when file changes are detected.
You can set the amount of seconds of inactivity to wait, after the first file change is detected, before
VVEngine starts a profile. You can also set the total maximum time to wait in seconds.
For example, the default values are 3 and 10, which means that VVEngine will look for a period of inactivity
of 3 seconds before starting a profile, after the first file change is detected, but limited to a total maximum of
10 seconds. If after 10 seconds, there is no period of inactivity of 3 seconds, VVEngine will start the profile >>

Also please note that the volume shadow creation it self will take time and that can add to the delay. There's ot much that can be done for that as Windows is taking the volume snapshot.
