|
|
Hi
I currently use VVengine to backup/sync files from my desktop and laptops.
Some files are not syncing and being excluded due to corruption.
Whilst I can understand the issue, VVengine reports this as a success meaning I am none the wiser of the problem and the fact the backup/sync is actually not doing everything I wanted and not letting me know.
I only found this out by accident.
Is there anyway to ensure this is reflected in the status - ie that there are exclusions to be investigated?
Thaanks

Perhaps reporting "corrupted" files as excluded for a reason as a different total to "excluded" files that I nominate by choice and then setting the success status using the "corrupted" count is possible? |

Thanks - they are detected but in the stats are part of the excluded total so I can't tell the difference between:
- genuine excluded I don't care about
- corrupted files that are excluded that I do care about and want synced and need to know that has happend so I can investigate |

Got it, I do not think now it's possible to make that distinction but indeed it is quite necessary. I have added this to our list of improvements for a future release. Are you comparing CRC values? thanks _________________ --

Have tried all the comparison options including CRC and CRC/datetimestamp and the result is the same.
Agreed - it would be best to be able to tell the difference between an excluded by choice file and an excluded by corruption/problem file.
The former I am ok with - the latter is a problem I need to know about so I can address. |
