Hi,

I am unable to get VVEngine to come up in a browser, either on the locally installed machine or a remote machine.

VVEngine Settings comes up OK and I add the IP address of a remote machine but cannot access either through 127.0.0.1:8001 or <remote lan ip>:8001.

VVEngine is running as a service and it's Version information is 2.1 build 2014.

ViceVeraPro Version 2.5 Build 2513 (Server) is running fine.

The Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition event log shows that the the VVEngine service has started and is operational (no errors) and restarts without reporting a problem.

Firewall is off.
IIS is on the machine but not using port 8001. I tried changing the port in VVEngine Settings to 8005, just in case, but same symptoms in all browsers.

How can I connect to my VVEngine installation?

Thanks,
russmnh

I found this in the VVEngine.log file:

08/19/2014 12:02:46 [5888.836-PID:3364-05880] [WARNING] HTTP connection from client 127.0.0.1 not allowed, client IPs restricted to 127.0.0.1 | 10.1.1.137

Now that's confusing to me but I hope that it helps you.

By changing the allowable IP addresses that can connect to VVEngine in VVEngine settings to * I am able to get it to come up in the browser on the local machine and remote machines.

While this solution keeps me going. I am not happy with having to allow connections to all machines.

Is there a troubleshooting process for this so I can set it back to local and one remote machine connection?

Thanks

Hi, maybe it's the spaces in 127.0.0.1 | 10.1.1.137 ?
Try also 127.*|10.* ?
thanks
