Bootable Drive

My wifes computer hard drive crashed and now installed two new drives, one will be for mirroring. How can I make the second (target drive) in case needed to be the bootable drive, only in the boot sector or otherwise?

I think the best option is a hardware solution, eg install a RAID card (http://www.promise.com/). The card will mirror the data between the 2 disks. ViceVersa can mirror files and folders but will not make the second disk bootable.
