|
|
I am trying to only copy part of a directory tree.
I have a good backup source to copy from.
The destination needs to be a new folder (not replacing the copy target that I am evaluating against).
I have an 'evaluation target' that I would like to compare against, but not modify.
2 questions:
I only see a date filter, how do I enter a 'time modified' filter manually?
How do I apply the comparison/filter to a different path than the path I am copying to?
This would be the inverse of setting the Archive option. With Archive I would be replacing the target and saving an "Archive" of the replaced file (pretty cool but not what i am trying to do). I would like to save an "Archive" or the files being copied, without overwriting the target I am evaluating against.
Please advise. |

Hi, the only way to do this is to compare source and target in ViceVersa (click on Compare), then select the files you want to copy and right click: from the context menu select "Copy To..." and enter the folder you wish to copy the files to. thanks _________________ --

OP here.
Thank you.
This helped me solve the problem at hand.
I was also able to custom select the files (seems like they were arranged in same order that cryptolocker parsed them) so I did not need to figure how to sort by timestamp.
I did briefly try to do it, until i realized the default order helps this particular case better. I.e. I was looking to copy files that were modified by crypptolocker, which was active for a particular time period, but not good new or modified files that were legitimately modified by the users. The default view seemed to group the crypto-files together - possibly as they were parsed and modified in similar order.
Would be curious to know if there is way to change the (flat list) view.
Thank you again. Your answer is invaluable. |

Hi, the flat list view be changed into "tree view" from the menu, but it cannot be sorted by file size or timestamp... _________________ --
