We keep getting the error “VVEngine is busy with a requested operation. Please retry re-connecting in a few seconds” when trying to connect to our viceversa server. The only way we can get it to work is by either rebooting the server or killing vvengine process tree and restarting the service. The server is a virtual server with sufficient cpu, memory and storage. It is a new build and we had copied over the .xml and .db file from an old server running vvengine 1.1 build 7 and viceversa pro 2 64bit (build 2015).

The versions we are currently running are VVengine 2.1 (build 2102) premium editon and viceversa pro 2.5 64 bit (build 2511).

We encounter the issue when doing the following steps.

We run a profile and it fails we will get the “VVEngine is busy with a requested operation. Please retry re-connecting in a few seconds” message and we will have to restart the service or reboot.

We do a run all (sequentially) it will stop on one profile, it will complete that profle (exit code 0) then we will get the same message,

We run a single profile, in the middle of the run we get the “VVengine is busy….”message, but it complete with exit code 0

Please help.

thanks,

JT

Thanks for the reply. We installed VV Pro 2.5 build 2513 , vvengine 2104 and deleted the two files you suggested but we are still experiencing the same problem.

We ran several profiles sequentially, one profile had an error (execution not completed) and after that we got vvengine busy message and we had to restart again.

Any ideas why this is happening even with the upgraded version?

thanks,

Thanks, while you are looking at the log, can you check what the log shows when the busy message is shown please? We may need to activate the debug ode to check this. thanks

Hello,

I only see the profiles that are scheduled to run and the profiles that successfully completed. Nothing really that stands out that would indicate an issue with the engine. How do we activate the debug?

thanks,

yes, i tried to change the sequence when doing a sequential run to troubleshoot and it just radomly stops at a profile. We also noticed that if we get an error on a profile it will cause the engine to break.

Trying to identify/isolate what could be the root cause of this problem. What happens if you "de-link" all the profiles and only run one at a time? Still same issue? thanks

Yes. We have tried running one at a time and it still happens.

Yes, but it does not show anything different than usual. Please confirm the following: you have a list of profiles in VVEngine. They are not running. As soon as you run one single profile VVEngine goes into "VVEngine is busy with a requested...." is that correct? Are you OK to try enabling the debug mode? thanks

Yes we have a list of profiles. We do a manual sequential run, it runs but it we will suddenly get the "vvengine is busy..." on a random profile on that list. It will complete that profile but the only way we can recover is by restarting the services. We run the same profile on its own and we wont get that message.

We also get the message when a profile we run errors out.

Yes we can enable debug. Is there anything different we have to do when running viceversa when debug is on?
