It seems to be working fine for us.

We used the following settings:

Send E-Mail TO: user@tgrmn.onmicrosoft.com
Send E-Mail FROM: user@tgrmn.onmicrosoft.com
SMTP Server Name: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587
Authenticate using Name and Password = enabled
User Name: user@tgrmn.onmicrosoft.com
Password: <the user password to access e-mail on outlook365>
Use Secure Connection (SSL / TLS) = enabled
Authenticate with POP3 server before sending E-Mail = disabled

Then clicking on "Click to Send Test E-Mail" sends the e-mail properly.

Can you test this?

thank you

No still not working and I am using the onmicrosoft.com. Is there a way to get you screen prints?? The "Sending E-Mail ..." dialog appears, then dims out with the program dies. The message in the dialog is: "Connecting to SMTP server: smtp.office365, port 587, user: 'kroy@pedge.onmicrosoft.com', using secure". Again after this any "click" gets the ViceVersa Pro 2.5 has stopped working.

Hi, thanks, yes I know that dialog. Do you have a file called ViceVersa.dmp and one called ViceVersa.rpt in the ViceVersa installation folder or anywhere on the HD? thanks

Have one called: C:\Users\kroy\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_ViceVersa.exe_8abc9fb6997d962d8508434f6cedce1b577329_1e5110bd\Report.wer

Neither viceversa.dmp or viceversa.rpt exist.

Thanks, does it crash only with Office365 emails, or with other providers too, e.g. GMail?

Similar settings, but different SMTP Server Name:

Send E-Mail TO: user@gmail.com
Send E-Mail FROM: user@gmail.com
SMTP Server Name: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
Authenticate using Name and Password = enabled
User Name: user@gmail.com
Password: <the user password to access e-mail on GMAIL>
Use Secure Connection (SSL / TLS) = enabled
Authenticate with POP3 server before sending E-Mail = disabled

Ok it worked with gmail .. But I had to change a security setting in Google to enable Access for less secure apps .. maybe that gives you a clue. However, before I did that, the App did not crash but instead gave me a message that the password was invalid or something like that....

Thanks.

Google wants email clients to implement OAuth2.0-based authentication, instead of using a username/password with the POP, IMAP, or SMTP protocol (that's the standard for desktop e-mail clients like Thunderbird or ViceVersa). OAuth 2.0 requires the email client to launch a browser to display a HTML form provided by Google and then use a token that it returns.

To still allow using POP, IMAP, or SMTP to send e-mails with GMail (which is fine), you'll need to enable the settings : enable access for less secure apps

See more here:

thanks

We've been battling this issue at one site for several months. We had it working again when we used: SMTP.OUTLOOK.COM which is NOT what Microsoft stipulates you use. This change worked for a month or so and now we are back to crashing on the email send to office 365.

Please let me know what the fix is you speak of.
