I'm wondering if this software provides a full mesh type setup, sort of how it works with Microsoft DFS. I want to sync one folder to multiple server shares and if any changes are made in any location it will update to all folders.

Also, is there a way for the program to notify a user if the file is already open, or give a warning when making a change. The only problem I see with these sync programs is overwriting. The only fail safe I've seen is creating an archive like folder to store deleted and conflicted files/folders.

Bare in mind, our company is trying to set up a synchronization across several locations around the world. We want to host this on our server and not on Dropbox or anything like that. Basically if a user has a file open in China and saves it to his file server we want that file server to replicate it to every single location.

Yes, you basically would sync multiple folders vs a central folder. See: http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item85.htm

Re files that are open, ViceVersa will not prevent two users from editing the same file, however, you can decide if the conflict file is then not synchronized (e.g. users must manually decide which file on which side to keep) or ViceVersa can just keep the newer copy (and optionally archive the older copy).

thanks
