TGRMN Software wrote: | Thanks, so to recap, you have a profile that is monitoring both source and target folders for file changes. At a certain point character 1A FF appears in the source file "VPN_PPTP Online" after being copied from target and then a change is detected in that file and the Incremental file complains about this character. |
The error occurred twice. I am not sure about the pattern occurred the first time, but VVengine was throwing the same error.
The second time:
- Settings: Monitor source only, full resync on disk insertion
- Once the external disk was inserted, a full resync occurred as expected, with no error
- subsequently, a change was detected and while VVengine attempted to sync the error was thrown again (on source)

thank you! |
Unfortunately once the error was given, to allow vvengine to work correctly I have manually renamed the file both on target and source, and finally this error disappeared |

Thanks, let's see if it happens again. Right now, for that same file, what characters do you have in source and on the target (the external drive)? Let's see if it happens again to the same file. thanks _________________ --

Hi there, I have been able to reproduce the error.
The misbehaved file name is not due to VV as it seems to be a bug in Google Chrome saving a web page with bad characters in the filename (randomly).
However, VVEngine gets trapped later on with files containing offending characters.
Steps:
- Computer_B has files with offending characters in the filename
- VVengine syncs correctly on external hard disk
- Once the external hard disk is connected to computer_A, a full resync occurs (no errors here)
- Once done, VVEngine traps some changes and tries to synch, however an error is issued:
Code: | [ERROR] Error reading VVEngine incremental file: 'C:\Users\Rix\AppData\Roaming\VVEngine\C0D76A9C-59191D3A-22222522-FCFA46A0-D4BFD657.vv.txt '. Invalid line: '<|>1<|>0<|>e:\Users\Rix\Desktop\Tomato settings\[Tomato] VPN'. |

There is no log information for this error.

Awaiting for a comment on this issue, yesterday I didn't plug the external disk.
Today I have attached again the disk, and VVEngine synchronized without errors... how did it fix the problem?
