I've recently set up Windows 8.1 (Basic) to dual boot on my Windows 7 Pro machine.
Under Win 8.1, profiles that run fine in Win 7 and use the Shadow Copy facility won't run interatively in Win 8.1 unless I start the program 'as Administrator'. I'm set up as Administrator, but apparently need 'elevated privileges'.
I've looked at one or two other posts that discussed this, but couldn't understand from them how to achieve this. It's very frustrating, as I'm used to just going straight into VV and, when I hit this problem, I have to exit and go in again 'as Administrator', temporarily saving any profile I've been testing.
By the way, I'm running with UAC off (minimum), as otherwise all those pop-ups drive me mad.
Can anyone please enlighten me?

Strange, Win 7 and 8.1 should behave in the exact same manner in this respect. In Win 8.1 try right clicking on the ViceVersa program ViceVersa.exe , then select the tab "compatibility", and enable "Run this program as administrator". _________________ --

Yes, that works fine. Strange, as you say. What's odd is that the actual text in the Compatibility dialog says 'Run as an Administrator', which would suggest anyone who's an Administrator (which doesn't work), rather than the built-in account.
Many thanks for your help.
