Having installed the recent release of ViceVersa Pro 2.5, build 2513, I'm happy to find an option (under Advanced Settings>More settings) to preserve folder created and modified dates during a copy process. However, I don't find that the creation dates are preserved. If a folder doesn't exist on the target, and is newly created, it bears the current date as creation date, regardless of the source folder's creation date. And if the profile is configured to replace newer items on the target with older items on the source, the target folder's creation date remains as the current date, and is not over-written with the source folder's creation date. I'd like to know if I'm overlooking something, or if there is a bug in the application. |

Hi, I tried on my c: drive , I had
Source: C:\Temp\FolderA\
Target: C:\Temp\FolderB\
I copied within ViceVersa
C:\Temp\FolderA\subfolder to Target: C:\Temp\FolderB\subfolder and the created timestamps were maintained if I had the option Retain folder created and modified timestamps when copying enabled.

After further testing, it appears that the created date of the target root folder is never updated, and this is by design. The created date of subfolders within the target is updated only if the target is newly-created during a backup. I was mistakenly expecting the created date of subfolders to be updated, even if the target already existed. |
