Hello,

I am hoping somebody can help, I have tried to get an answer from the support mail address but I am not getting an response.

We are running a VV Replication profile that updates a NAS device with files than have changed on detection (sub folder level monitoring). We have also setup VV to notify us when a error occurs during the replication process, but we are getting 100's of emails a day. The majority of the errors reported is due to VV trying to copy the file when it is in use (locked by another process). Unfortunately we cannot use the shadow copy functionality as it has an impact on the number of retained shadow copies that are natively created through windows (we are using the 64 maximum copy limit due to a clients requirements to have a shadow copy taken every 30 minutes).

Rather then email us every time this lock issue occurs is it possible to get some form of summary report produced say on a daily basis that identifies those files that have still not been replicated to the NAS device and exclude the lock issue from being reported as an error?

Also does VVPro keep on trying the locked files forever until the lock issue is resolved or does it give up after a certain period of time (resulting in the files not being replicated)?

Many Thanks.

Gary.

Hi, possibly the best option is to enable the option to skip files that are in-use , the option is in profile settings -> advanced settings. With that option files will be skipped and no errors will be reported. When files are no longer in use a new change will be detected and the files will be finally copied then.
