Hi!
I am experiencing an issue with ViceVersa Pro build 2512 (64-bit) hanging on comparison. The log confirms the comparison has completed:
2013-08-20 15:30:51 : Total found: 66 927
2013-08-20 15:30:54 : Comparing ...
2013-08-20 15:31:06 : Comparing done.
However, the user interface has hung by this point and says "Comparing..." in the progress window. Waiting for several days makes no difference, it never progresses beyond this point.
I am getting the issue on two machines, one 2012 Server and one 2008 R2 copying/comparing towards the same 2008 R2 machine. Using \\?\ to handle long folder names. The issue seems to be with specific folders but due to the large number of folders being handled I cannot determine which one.
Other profiles copying to/from the same locations, but other folders, execute perfectly.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Marcus |

This actually varies from 60000 to 10 000 000. The behaviour does not seem to relate to the number of files or folders.
I just figured this out: if I a compare e.g. \\?\e:\data\ (source) it does not work. Then I exclude the folder \\?\e:\data\P1159; suddenly it works.
Then I create a new profile for only \\?\e:\data\P1159. This works too. But comparing all at the same time does not work.
I just repeated/confirmed the above twice. Although it is a workaround, it does create unreliability issues of course.
Thank you,

P1159 has 3318 files and 393 subfolders. e:\data without P1159 is 61 599 files in 4347 subfolders.
However, I can copy another directory with 7 238 854 files in 25 958 subfolders.
Also, I have realized that the initial copy always works. I am using "Backup (Mirror Source to Target). The 2nd synchronization fails during comparison.
Thank you,
