Hi - I'm using: VV Pro Build 2511 64-bit [Server] [Ext VSS]
I'm trying to use the VSS writer.
I emailed the log to support last week. I believe the log is set to 'detailed' already.
I have tried a number of things on my own but no results. I can only crash the server so many times before people start getting annoyed!
What shall I try next? Thanks! |

Hi, saw your e-mail .... sorry for delay I was asking around for a possible cause. Is Volume Shadow Copy creation failing also when you are not using ViceVersa for it, e.g. command line? It sounds more like a general issue with Volume Shadow Copies rather than ViceVersa. thanks _________________ --

No problem. I can understand that this is an issue that could have a few causes and that asking around would be necessary.
I use the VSS for some regular file backups and it works fine. I originally had some Hyper-V Volume Shadow issues outside of ViceVersa that I was able to repair. However, I still get blue screen. It could still be something outside of VV though and I just may need to run different tests...based on what VV needs, can you recommend some command line tests that I can run to ensure that the VSS service is working properly?
