Hi,

I already emailed support about this, but I never received an answer, so I want to try it here one more time, hoping that someone can offer a solution.
I have always run VV and VV Engine under Win XP, never had issues, but I recently had to switch laptops, and as such, I ended up with win 8 Pro x64.
Under Win 8, I am having issues with one profile only, and I am unable to figure out the reason. This profile make a mirror image of drive D, with as destination a Buffalo HD hooked up to my Asus RT AC66N router.
When I run the profile interactively in VV, then I get a series of errors, insufficient privileges to access folder, and I need to upgrade my privileges to admin status. This is strange, as I am the only user of this laptop, and I am in the admin group. And if I ask to ignore the errors, then VV comes back with CRC errors.
When I set the profile in VV Engine, then I get the error "Target folder not found", although from win 8, I have no problem at all in accessing the drive/folder. I remember that it is recommended to use the actual target path, and not the symbolic letter presentation, but with full path name, I get the same error.
Any hints as to how I can get out of this situation?

Thanks

Hi, which path are you using for target? Do you need user + password to access the Buffalo HD ? thanks

Hi,

I am using \\rtac66u\Buffalo HD\backup folder name. The Buffalo is on the LAN and is shared, so no username, no password.
VV has no problem at all in accessing it. It is only VV Engine which gives the error. I however noticed that first running VV and then VVEngine, removes the error. And in that case VV and VVEngine stay stuck with the same error, that I need to upgrade my admin priveleges.

Hi, try enabling the option "Connect using default user's credentials". It's in the ViceVersa profile settings -> folders -> network.
thanks

Hi,

I got it to work, but is not clear to me what did it, the new setting, or the change which I made Under win 8. I had already tried several things which I found in posts on the internet, to upgrade my admin priveliges, and I now ran into the following page:

....

And, I am now allowed to change the system files without any issue. Great !!! Thanks.

I have another question, and I may need to open up a new topic, but is it possible to sync Outlook 2013 pst files using VV? Or at least, is it possible to backup pst files, and for example the internet favorites?
I searched the forum, but I could only find something about .ost files, that they are not compatible, but the question is then, about which VV version are we then talking.

Thanks again
