I have VV Pro 2.5 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with all the latest updates.

I have 4 tasks in my scheduler, all set to go, and their status shows "Ready".

But when I restart my computer and go to the scheduler, some or all of the tasks show "Not Scheduled" under status. To get them to say "Ready" I have to go to edit, change something, change it back, press ok, enter the password, then it says "Ready". Large PITA.

Any way I can fix this?

It may have something to do with my recently having installed a new HD and completely re-installed the operating system and all the programs. (Gets rid of all the crap that builds up and slow your machine over the years but does cause little problems like this that need to be handled). Since doing that every time I go to VV Scheduler a pop-up box comes on asking if I want to allow TGRMN to make changes to my computer which is no big problem, I just answer yes. But it didn't used to ask me this.

But I supply that last paragraph just as background info, the problem is the "Not scheduled" status and my backups not running. Any help with that I would greatly appreciate.

Thank you very much,

Rick

Hi , please re-create the tasks and then also check the status of the tasks in the Windows Task Scheduler, the VVScheduler tasks are called _viceversapr2_task* and are in the Task Scheduler Library folder

Thanks for your reply.

I deleted all the tasks. I re-booted the computer. I recreated the tasks. I re-booted the computer. The same thing happened. The status of the tasks goes from "ready" to "not scheduled."

Looking in Task Scheduler under "Task Scheduler (Local) there is Task Scheduler Library under which there is a folder for TGRMN Software but none of my tasks. There is a sub-folder for VVLauncher, but not one for VVScheduler. As I read in another thread in this forum that Launcher is a replacement for scheduler and they aren't supposed to be used at the same time, I (bravely? foolishly?) deleted that (VVLauncher) folder. And tried everything all over again. Same results. There is still a folder for TGRMN Software in Task Scheduler, but nothing under it and in VVPro's VVScheduler the tasks say "not scheduled" under status.

BTW, I searched the entire disk for the tasks, in the form you indicate, and they do appear in the folder C:\Windows\Tasks.

What can I try next?

Thank you again,

Rick

hi, the tasks should be under "Task Scheduler Library" (the root). Try clicking on Task Scheduler Library and check if the tasks are there and status. thanks

OK. Looked in Task Scheduler Library root and task is there and says "Ready". But in VV Pro's VVScheduler the status says "Not Scheduled".

I experimented further and found that in this situation the task will run when scheduled. So I guess one should just ignore the infomation shown in VVPro's VVScheduler?

Thanks again,

Rick

Do the tasks always say "Not Scheduled" even after the tasks have run once?

No. Perhaps that's it. The task I was testing said "Ready", I re-booted, and now it still says "Ready". Nice if that means all is well but those first false "Not scheduled"s have sure wasted a lot of my time and yours. I expect I'm not the first or last. I'll put all tasks back and ignore the first time "not scheduled" (checking Task Manager) and let you know if there is any more abnormal behavior.

Rick

Hi,

This task is

"c:\program files\viceversa pro 2\schedstub.exe" "c:\users\rick\documents\viceversa pro 2\photo, video libraries rick3 to networkspace2.fsf" /autoexec /wait

Originally scheduled weekly, 2pm, every 1 week on Sun. The "Show multiple schedules" box is unchecked.

I don't think the scheduling is relevant though, as I changed the time while experimenting, as above, a number of times to 10 or 15 minutes ahead of current time and date, to see if I could re-boot the machine and the task would run with status now saying "unscheduled" in VVScheduler and "Ready" in Windows Task Scheduler. Also originally this problem was happening with all four tasks I had scheduled. They were all weekly, once a week at 2pm on different days.

To re-produce the issue I would set up a task, note that the status is "ready", re-boot the machine before the first time the task runs, note that rebooted the status would change to "unscheduled" in VVScheduler but remain "Ready" in Windows Task Scheduler, and then confirm that the task runs as scheduled anyway.

Regards,

Rick
