Some months ago, I posted here re the bug in VV Free 1.05 which makes that if you want to synch, e.g., d:\ with i:\, it reverts back, again and again, to some d:\abc\, with just some files in it, so instead of comparing 10,000 files to about 10,000 files, you "compare" 50 files to 10,000 files.
This needs a complete re-install, and then it works ONCE, and then it's again the above problem.
You told me this problem was not present in the paid versions, but what do I know about this?
Then you deleted another post of mine in which I said, VV is visually so pleasant, it's only the absence of proper rename processing that withholds my purchase of the professional versions, when several (visually inferior) products do have this rename processing (by maintaining a little database for file and folder renames and running in the background to monitor any changes).
Could you please tell me about your digging into the above bug? It's very well there, I don't have any such problems with any other program, and a third-party virus attacking specifically and exclusively VV / VV Free, come on?!
In case you delete this post here again instead of looking into the bug, I promise you more than 10 "honorable mentions" of this bug in more than 10 internet forums - I'm not to be treated like sh** when I try to be constructive as possible.
I repeat, I consider VV the visually finest program on the market, but with bugs like the above (and with developers deleting not-offensive posts), it's worthless.
Very much hoping for a constructive reaction, this time. |

I would like to add that this time, even the complete de-installation didn't work, and after a complete re-install, I got that unwanted sub-directory as source even at my first try,
and this WITH having cleared my registry (with Wise Registry Cleaner) and having deleted everything with *viceversa*.* in c:, incl. a windows\prefetch file.
So I deleted everything with *viceversa*.* in c:, AND also everything with *vvfree*.* in c:, and cleared my registry again,
and THEN only I got a really new installation, without the subfolder appearing as source, and was (after checking "incl. sub-folders" option) able to compare my two directories - probably again, for just one single try.
As said before, if you don't want the free version to be "good enough", make it to compare just a certain amount of files or such, but don't make it totally useless!
Another question:
In another thread, people ask for keyboard shortcuts, and the tab key cannot be used for expanding / collapsing (in the free version, there is no collapsing to begin with, which is a totally acceptable limitation here, I think, but which prevents me from knowing how the paid version would behave, hence my asking).
Then, the left / right arrows are not available either for collapsing / expanding, and you say, sorry, is needed for coping to left / right. (This is not possible with the free version either, and again, total acceptance from my part, but hence my asking.)
That's ok for me, but then, WHAT are the shortkeys for expanding / collapsing, since if I finally buy the professional version, this would be a thing I could NOT do without: Is the mouse here mandatory, or are there ANY shortkeys for this?
Let's be constructive, please, your program is visually much too pleasant in order to be discarded for secondary reasons!
(And what about a little database monitoring file and folder renames? Couldn't be THAT difficult to realize?) |

Hi, I do not think we deleted your post, we do not delete any posts, maybe was a mistake! Regarding the issue you are reporting: does it happen only with a specific folder? Could you download the PRO version (30 day free trial) and see if the issue is in that version too? thanks!
PS re expanding / collapsing in the PRO version, I think there were no shortcuts added for that yet, sorry!
thanks _________________ --
