My ViceVersa implementation is spider-webbing all over the place and I'm thinking of consolidation.
What are the thoughts of setting up a Windows server specifically to run VV and VV Engine, reaching out to lots of servers to sync folders between them. This would give me a single place from which to work and remove this spiderweb of server-to-server connections I have that continues to grow.
Good idea? Bad idea? |

It takes a bit more bandwidth to copy files between two servers from a third one. Are you monitoring for changes / executing in real-time or just scheduling? _________________ --

I have various levels of performance levels set but most are set to "Normal." All are monitoring target/source. I also have one server that is handling several server-to-server syncs for servers other than itself, and that is working fine. It's not a great many, but several. It's also a server that has another application function, but I started growing it's number of VV profiles that it handles other server syncs
As my sync requirements grow, I'm seeing that this could get cumbersome at some point if I don't start thinking about a consolidation strategy, dedicating a server (VM) to ViceVersa. |

The only issue I see with a dedicated server synchronizing other servers is the monitoring for changes over LAN. If that works fine (it depends also on how much and how quick files are changing) then it should be no issue. _________________ --
