|
|
I am trying to copy NTFS permissions along with files and folders. There are no inherited perms on the source or destination. I have the boxes checked under advanced for configuration to copy them but they do not copy no matter what I try. The file and folder info, (created, etc are coping fine) though. |

Hi, do source and target root folders have the same permissions ? Do they inherit permissions from parent object? And are they part of the same domain? thanks _________________ --

Hello.
Source and target root folders have the same permissions, they do not inherit permissions from parent object, they are in same domain, both on domain controllers, one W2003R2 and the other W2008R2.
All files syncronizes perfekt exept NTFS permissions.
While I was writing this I found that a shared folder copies NTFS permissions correctly from one server to another, but folders that are not shared do not copy NTFS permissions. |

Hi, are you running ViceVersa on the source or target? Are you running ViceVersa "as administrator"? Right click on ViceVersa and select "run administrator" from the menu. thanks _________________ --

Hi again.
The reason for my problem was that inherited permissions on source and target forlders were not identical.
Thanks for your help. |
