When comparing one folder to another once vice versa pro hits about 2.25 million files the software freezes up. I am on an evaluation copy of pro and testing it for my company. Also the RAM usage and steadily increases as vice versa compares the number of files & subfolders. I have tried to turn buffering off and use windows native file copy however I do not think the software even reaches that point because it freezes during the comparing source & target part.

Now I do get an error message "Out of memory, too many files in source and target. Split job into multiple profiles [Error Code mc3]

The problem is I cannot split the job I am doing a sync of one main folder with 75 sub folders.

Thanks for the reply, as I said it would be really hard to separate into different profiles since the main folder has 75 subfolders. that would be a lot of exclusions. I used to use free file sync which did the sync twice as fast and without any memory issues. I like the features of vice versa and would much rather buy and use this software. Other than splitting the job up is there anything else I could do to help?

The only way to do it is to split the profiles with filters, sorry. But it is not very hard. For instance you could use:

Profile A
---------
Source: c:\SourceFolder\
Target: X:\TargetFolder\
Include Subfolder Filter \[a-n]* - Case Sensitive: No
(This filter includes only all level-1 subfolders with names starting with a to n)

and

Profile B
---------
Source: c:\SourceFolder\
Target: X:\TargetFolder\
Exclude Subfolder Filter \[a-n]* - Case Sensitive: No
(This filter excludes all level-1 subfolders with names starting with a to n)

The exact filter depend on the name and content of your 75 subfolders.
thanks
