Hello to all,

I've installed and configured VVPro with VVengine for a customer 3 weeks ago with about 10 profiles. Everything works fine, but after executing the backup jobs mostly the information appears 'Checking archive folder (full check)...' and the time amount of this task is rather high. Copy job(backup) takes 5 minutes and the archive check 20 minutes or more.
The archive and the backup destination is on a NAS connected over a VPN 3MBit.

Can somebody tell me why the archive check is necessary?

brgds

Hi, ViceVersa needs to check which / how many files are in the archive. Have you you set limitations on how many files to keep in the archive? thanks

I have set the limitation for each file to keep 5 copies.

If you remove that limitation then ViceVersa will not need to check the archive folders each time.

But I have set this limitation due to the fact that I want to keep maximal 5 copies of each file. Not more and not less.

What would happen, if I remove this limitation?

And one question.

Why there do not exists a tracking database like for the backup files?

Hi Peter,

The issue is that the archive must be checked for the max amount of files you set as a limitation and that is what is taking time.

Are you using real-time (monitoring for changes at file or folder level in VVEngine)?

thanks

Hi,

I do not using real time monitoring.
I check some folder every half hour with folder level. Others every 1 hour.
