Hello,

So I started to use VV this morning and done some initial testing with small amounts of data. VV seems to be working well, with the initial copy of all files and then setting the syncro for file mirroring set with the flag to copy when anything changes or updates.

Now here is the scenario that I am working towards. Our servers need to have the hardware updated, and are anywhere from 1.3 to 2 TB in size for data alone(data only - not OS), OS will be updated with new hardware. So the initial copy would be quite large and initially slow if I use VV, so I do not want to use VV to complete this portion. Instead, I would like to use our TSM to complete a initial restore of the latest backup, then use VV to update any additional files that have been changed etc.. Can VV work in this manner?

Thanks,

Thank you for evaluating ViceVersa. Yes, ViceVersa/VVEngine can start with already populated sources and/or targets. ViceVersa will use the file size and timestamp (optionally CRC values. but that takes longer) to establish if the files are newer or older. So if your copy of files to target via a restore will maintain the file timestamps properly, your method will work and it is recommended. thanks

So I have this working, the files compared they the updated from the source to the destination.. I am trying to use VV engine, but I am getting an error when trying to run it - It is telling me that my profile is not enabled.. I do not understand this.. If I look at the VV engine, Category is unfiled \ status, says disabled

Thanks,
