No where in the website do I really see a more detailed explanation of how ViceVersa works.
Such as when I am using the backup method with ViceVersa and running VVEngine on my server, ViceVersa is immediately able to detect changes within seconds of me changing a file in the thousands of files I have setup for it to scan. How is it doing this if no database is involved? Or is there a database involved? |

Hi, VVEngine works with the underlying OS to get a list of files / folders that have changed since last run. It then uses that info to avoid rescanning. A database is used, but only for the synchronization method or the no-rescan option (to memorize and store info on the last scan). _________________ --

Hello, are there any further technical details available on the underlying technology or processes involved in working with the OS to detect the changes, or is this proprietary to ViceVersa only? Is it a particular file system process? |
