multi-site plan

I've just located this software and am exploring it for use in the below config.

If any obvious pitfalls, I'd appreciate feedback.

Two sites, home 2003 server, remote XP PRO file server.
Home use ethernet DISK drive (WDC) for all data storage of both sites (general office docs).
VPN to link the two sites via T1's.

The Ethernet disk drive is the key focal point for data.
The server has a DAT tape drive for secondary backup of the external disk.

The goal is to replicate the data at the end of the day and later that night perform the backup.

No databases involved.

To my quick review, I see no reason why VV will not perform this task.

Yes, that will work. Both 2003 and XP can replicate files to the NAS. The job over T1 will take a bit longer obviously, but only new / changed files are copied again so it will work OK. It will also depend on the amount of data changing.
