|
|
On one of our servers, I am receiving the following windows error message:
"Failed connecting to VVEngine." when trying to open VVEngine from the Windows System Task Bar.
When I try to open VVEngine Settings, I receive this error:
"Failed connecting to VVEngine - GetHTTPPort()"
Everything seems to be running though; files are definitely replicating. The log file shows nothing out of the ordinary either.
I think a server reboot will fix it, however I would like to know what the cause of this maybe so proper measures can be taken in case it occurs again or at least prevent it from happening again. |

I can send it but just want to ensure my email does not get blocked again because of an attachment? |

Please send 2 e-mails, one without attachment and one with. If we do not get the one with the attachment I will reply to the one without, thank you. _________________ --

Hello, I just realized I sent you the wrong log files. Where exactly would I find the VVEngine.log file? |

Hi, you should be able to right-click on the VVEngine icon in the Windows Taskbar and select "View VVEngine Log". thanks _________________ --

Thanks, I was able to find it but it only goes back to 12/03. Where would I be able to change the settings for VVEngine logs so that I can retain everything until I manually archive or remove it myself? |

Hi, I think the max VVEngine log file size can't be changed unfortunately.... I'll check if there is an undocumented registry settings... _________________ --

Without the VVEngine logs, I take it this can't be something we can troubleshoot? Please do let me know as we'd like to prevent or handle such errors accordingly should they occur in the future. |

Without the log it's not possible to investigate what happened, but should it happen again, maybe the log will be large enough and contain info on the failure? _________________ --

If there is a way to increase log file size max setting for the VVEngine.log file that would be great if it can be provided. |

I'm having the same issue as reported in this thread. looks like they did a server reboot. is there any other info on the cause for this issue? I see this was back in 2012 so that was a very long time ago. I'm running v2.2 Server Premium (Build 2200) on a windows server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 |
