Create a CRC for an entire CD (not all files or ISO)?

Is there such a thing as creating a CRC value for an ENTIRE CD? I'm not looking for all the CRCs of each file on the CD nor am I looking for the CRC for the ISO file from which the CD was created.

I want to verify that a physical CD is identical to another physical CD using 1 CRC.

Currently this is not possible. But a good idea: it could be implemented as a CRC calculation of all files' CRCs.
