I'm running XP with Outlook 2003, doing an automatic Mirror backup every night of My Docs, Desktop, Favorites, and a few other things. Everything working great except that despite it's being set for Source to Target, when I open Outlook next morning somehow a lot of the files I deleted from Personal Folders-Deleted Items are back. I've checked and rechecked my settings (below) and they're correct. The only thing I can think of is that for certain items, rather than doing a hard delete I store them in Outlook's Archive Folders-Deleted Items folder, but I'm not even sure that's it. My settings are below; any help would be appreciated.
Thank you all.

Hi, the Backup (Mirror Source to Target) copy method is a one-way copy from source to target, plus files in target that are not in source are deleted from target. This method never changes or deletes any files in source. Where are the Outlook files kept? thanks _________________ --

Thanks. Yes, I have it set to Mirror, for sure.
My Outlook 2003 pst files are here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Janis Ian\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
also:
extend.dat
Outlook.bak
Outlook.log
I'm going to try it again tonight, having copied my Outlook pst seperately onto another external hard drive just in case... |
