|
|
We have ViceVersa set up to run as a service and in real-time mode. Long story short, a file is put in one directory which triggers the copy, and when the copy to the new dir is complete, it triggers the copy to a third directory.
I ahve two questions:
1. Sometimes I see(in the gsdget) that a copy has been done, but the 1st copies time is after the second copy.
2. More concerning, or at least befuddling, is that I see the job has been triggered, but the log says there were no files to copy. What can cause that?
We are in Evaluation mode and hope to purchase, but I need these questions answered so I can answer when asked about the odd behavior. |

what do you mean by "the 1st copies time is after the second copy" ?

Do you have excluded files / folders in this profile? Change detection could be detecting changes but the files are excluded from copying. Or files could be skipped because in-use (if you enabled the option) Check the profile log, the location is in ViceVersa profile settings -> execution

In the gadget, out of the 2 copies, the first sync will put the file into the source directory for the second copy. That should mean that time shown in the gadget for sync #1 should be before sync #2. Sync #2 shouldn't happen until sync #1 has put a file in the directory for sync#2 to pick up. But, sometimes the time is several seconds sooner in sync #2.
And I am not filtering anything. |
