|
|
I have a profile that synchronized a directory and subdirectories between 2 servers.
The directory contains 1,114,000 files totaling 190GB.
The sync is taking 1 hour 30 min or so.
Is there a way to speed this up?
My profile looks like this:
Profile File: c:\buzsoftware\viceversa pro 2\websync2012.fsf
Folders
- Source: "C:\Web\"
- Target: "\\76.12.185.106\web\"
- Include Subfolders: Yes
- Exclude files: "tempstylesheet.css"
- Exclude files: "tempStyleSheetXML.xml"
- Exclude files: "acclog.txt"
- Include files: "C:\Web\_schtasks\CommentCard\ccSites.txt"
- Exclude files: "2009vote.csv"
- Exclude files: "c:\web\$goodsynctest"
- Exclude subfolders: "sitesearch"
- Exclude subfolders: "pagestats"
- Exclude subfolders: "memberstats"
- Exclude subfolders: "_*"
- Exclude subfolders: "admin_beta"
- Exclude subfolders: "aspnet_client"
- Exclude subfolders: "C:\Web\meritsoft\"
- Exclude subfolders: "web-inf"
- Exclude subfolders: "master*"
- Exclude subfolders: "jonasdata"
- Exclude subfolders: "C:\Web\NPCP\files\"
- Exclude subfolders: "\\76.12.185.106\web\npcp\files"
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
- Ignore Size
- Files with these extensions are always newer in source: *.mdb
Execution
- Method: Synchronization
- No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
- Tracking Database: "C:\BuzSoftware\ViceVersa PRO 2\Mastersync2012.tdb"
- Log File: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ViceVersa PRO 2\log6.log" (max 10000 KB)
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- No archive for deleted/replaced target files
- Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison |

The upgrade is vvengine 2.1 is helping. The file synchronizations are taking only a few minutes.
I am having another issue. My connection to the engine with the scheduler is not stable. I keep getting a message that the engine is busy and to try connection on a few seconds.
This keeps happening while I am working and monitoring the processes and is getting frustrating. |

Any idea where the log file may be?
I have searched the program files and document and settings directories.
I am scanning my entire drive but it has not returned a result yet. It takes a while to scan so many files.
Also yesterday when I was unable to connect to the vvengine at all I unregistered it as a service and re-registered. it.
I was them able to connect but still had the same issue as before with it timing out and asking to retry in a few seconds.
Today I am now in the same state as yesterday and not able to connect to the engine at all.
This started to happen after I made a schedule change to one of my profiles. |

Hi, the log is usually at:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\VVEngine\VVEngine.log
Location depends on which account is running the service. _________________ --

I'm on server 2003 R2.
I have searched the documents and settings directory. The log file is not there or any of the users directories or sub directorys.
could the file have different extension instead of .log? |

Hi, if you are using the latest VVEngine version 2.1 build 2102, try right-clicking on the VVEngine icon that is shown on the taskbar and select "View VVEngine log". If the icon is not shown, select start -> programs -> VVEngine for ViceVersa PRO -> Show Icon on Taskbar. _________________ --
