|
|
I have configured the option of ntfs permission copying and it results that first initial sync of folder copies all the permissions but later changes on the source permissions ( backup to target method) are not being synced.
Is it because network freindly scanning is selected in profile ?, i have permission changes happening from time to time. Please advise. |

File rights can change without the file being edited. If this product does not detect NTFS file right changes it is a major flaw! IF used for server sync it is an issue that file rights are not updated even if the file has not changed. We purchased 15+ licenses because this product supposedly did what DFS Replication does. I see that no one is answering the thread. Can someone help us! |

I am using it scheduled as a backup. If I need to restore at any time I will need current NTFS rights. All servers are mirrored to a target for backup purposes. Thanks! |

The Robocopy document link you shared is incorrect. In order to get all rights refreshed this is the correct command:
ROBOCOPY Source Destination /SECFIX /COPY:ATSOU /e /xx
This copies only the NTFS rights and not the data.
Thanks! |
