|
|
Hello,
could you explain the advantages of the new synchronisation method "Synchronize files one-way only: source to target (synchronization method)" introduced in ViceVersaPro 2.5b2505 compared to the (old) method "Backup (mirror source to target)"?
I know that the first method uses a database and I understand that for bidirectional synchronisation a database is necessary. But I don't see any scenarios where I need this option/method.
Thank you,
Thorsten |

Hi, the difference is that the "Synchronize files one-way only" uses a tracking database and still identifies file conflicts when they happen (e.g. files changed on both sides). The Backup method does not track file conflicts. _________________ --

But with Sync files one way, if any files are changed on target drive, the target drive does not get restored back to its original state. Only backup method (mirror source to target) can get target drive back to the exact state the source drive is at, correct? |
