I have just purchased a WD Sentinel 4000 running Windows Storage Server 2008. It includes backup but only for Win / Mac clients and I have some other sources I'd like to backup - pretty lightweight stuff. I can do this now by scheduling a client computer to run VVPro2 between the source and server and that seems to work fine.

What I'd like to know is does VVPro run on Intel Atom D525 processor Win Storage Server 2008 R2 x64, and if so, is there an advantage or requirement to run VVPro Server or will the version I have or VVPro 2.5 work fine?

Thanks for your advice - great product BTW, I have been using this for years now and it makes file management between computers so simple I couldn't live without it.

Thanks,
Stephen

Hello,
yes, ViceVersa PRO 2.5 runs on Windows Storage Server 2008, no problem: the advantage being faster performance (local to LAN rather than LAN to LAN) and additional running options, including copying open files with shadow copies:

and real-time execution with VVEngine:

thanks

I Just tried to install my copy of ViceVersa Pro. on to my Windows HomeServer, and it would only let me run the 30 day trial. It said that my license was not a server license? Isn't Windows Storage Server and WHS essentially the same?
