When restoring the entire set of files on to my new disk overnight I discovered that the program had only copied half the files a day or so later. Perhaps my computer had powered down the hard drive in the middle of the night ? I now set the power savings option in windows 8.1 never to switch off the hard drive while backing up or restoring files.
