|
|
im wondering if its possible to have a script that i could run to reset named databases for when i switch detsination backup drives over. Somtimes i switch out the destination with an older version and so in this cas ei want all profiles to do a full rescan that write to that destination. Any pointers if it cna be done and how the script might look if indeed its possible. |

Hello,
Do you mean you would like to force a full rescan if the drive changes ? E.g. you are backing up to drive E:\ and would like to force a full rescan if the serial number of drive E:\ changes ?

The full rescan condition does not support drive serial number changing, but that's a good idea. Do you also need a full rescan is the disk changes? thanks _________________ --

can the same vvdb1.tdb used for other users? |

In that case each user needs its own unique tracking database, you can use path variables in the tracking db too. thanks _________________ --

what i understand is tracking database will created when we run vvpro after installed on profile creation, isn't?
if you mention that to use dynamic path in profile for tracking database part, that's meaning that i have to create tracking database for all users? |

hi, im creating 1 vvdb1.tdb on a user, then use it for other user and it was copied over to installed vvpro on other user using startup script which running as SYSTEM. and this cause nothing to backup when vvpro running.
how to get it working using single vvdb1.tdb? |
