|
|
Hi,
Can I put a single .fsf file on the server and configure VVEngine to use that profile? Can multiple VVEngines from different PCs use this profile?
My purpose is to implement a sigle profile for all users so that it will be easier and fast for me to apply any changes. |

Hello,
yes, that is possible. Test what happens if the profile is not accessible and VVEngine is running. The same profile can be shared across ViceVersa. However keep the log file (that is specified in the profile) local. thanks _________________ --

Let us know how it goes and if there are part of ViceVersa + VVEngine that could be improved to handle this one-profile over the network setup. thanks _________________ --

This is the error message that we got so far but is not very frequent for each user.
Profile: <ProfileName>
Result: Error opening the profile file. The profile file is invalid.
Exit Code: 6
[ERROR] Can not open file P:\ViceVersa\<ProfileName>
.fsf for reading. |

An update:
For some reason, some client's VVEngine profile sometimes gets disabled and the message in vvengine states "Profile was changed" |

Hi, that happens if the network becomes unavailable even for a few seconds, as VVEngine is monitoring the profile file. _________________ --

Right now, we access the .fsf file via mapped drive.
Is there a way we could use UNC? |

For today, I did not receive an error message from users whon I applied the UNC.
For the deployment, I just configure the .fsf file the way I wanted it for all users using <username> for the source and target then placed the .fsf file on a shared folder on our server.
Each <username> has its own folder on our backup server (user has full r/w access on their own folder)
For the client pc, I just install VVpro and VVEngine (Allowing our Server IP to manage VVEngine so that I could manage all clients remotely)
From the server, I could add, remove, edit schdeule, enable and disable profiles. |
