I have an ECM server and I want to replicate all of the images to another server. The server currently holds almost 5 million files for a total of 361GB and grows daily. I know that there is a limitation of 1 million files and the recommended practice to to create multiple profiles, but the way the ECM creates files and folders, this would be difficult.

I read another post and it appears that there is no file limit with the x64 version of ViceVersa. Is this correct?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi, on Windows 32-bit the max memory allocated to each user process is 2GB. That allows ViceVersa to store info on about 1 million files per profile. On Windows 64-bit the max memory allocated to each user process is 8192GB (8TB): this is only achievable with a large amount of RAM memory installed and space for the swap file. So ViceVersa can handle A LOT more files on 64-bit.

However it it still recommended to try to limit the amount of files processed with profile as illustrated here, even on 64-bit: http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item104.htm

In your case, 5 million files in one profile on 64-bit should be OK.

thanks
