On a number of files inside of my user profile (i.e., c:\users\[acctname]\ I am getting an error that says '[Can not open "\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy8\Users\[rest of directory path]' Any ideas on how to clear? |

They are still there as they are my Outlook 2007 databases and other files. Outlook was closed at the time VVEngine ran the profile. |

I'll give it a try by excluding the files/directories. Some of the other files giving errors are cache files for Office and other applications. It would be nice as an enhancement to ViceVersa to ignore these files in Vista/7 that are known to create such errors. |

Hi,
There's an option to create the shadow copy before comparison and not after comparison (that is the default). That would get rid of the issue. The option is in profile settings->advanced settings->details (1st)
The new ViceVersa PRO build 2505 will skip files that are not found automatically.

Thanks. I've set that Detail option and I'll see if that clears things up. |

The shadow copy before option did the trick. My weekly update finished without errors. |
