Hello,
I just upgraded from 1.3 to 2.5 pro with vv engine. Ive setup a new profile to sync between my Windows 7 pro computer to a Windows XP pro computer. I'm usining the same shares as I did in v1.3 and the old "vvlauncher", which worked fine. However, with the newest version vv engine says the Source or Target folder are not accessible. Specifically the XP network share is the issue. Ive tried both drive mapping and UNC paths without success. The profile works perfectly in vvpro 2.5
This is on a workgroup; both OS use the same admin log on user name and password. Permissions on the folders are set to Everyone/full control.
vv engine is running as a service on the Windows 7 computer; there is no firewall running on either system.
Thanks

Hi, is the VVEngine service running under your account (the one that also has access to the Windows XP)? If the service is running under the localsystem account, that account does not have network access. thanks _________________ --

That fixed the issue. Although I log in to both computers using my personal account, which is administrative, it is NOT the actual built in administrator account. So, even when I had the service using my personal log in info instead of Local System, it didn't work.
Using the Service's "Log In As: .\administrator" and the password being the same on both computers was the fix.
Using the "built in" administrator account was the key for me.
Thanks for your quick response and directing me to the area that needed fixing...
By the way: Ive been using VVpro since 1.3 (2004) and it has to be one of the best products I've purchased. As an IT professional and Manager I wouldn't be without it. It saves time, money and is a true investment.
Thanks

Yes, it must by due to the new Windows 7 UAC which makes a difference between the "built-in" administrator and the standard administrator.
