|
|
I am a long time user and have installed the s/w multiple times. Issue is with a Win7Pro64 using IE9 which is identical to another computer that I have the s/w working on. I am running the most current releases of VVPro64 and VVEngine and VVEngine is running as a service.
VVPro works as expected.
VVEngine starts and displays the startup screen correctly.
Selecting Add Profile displays "profileform.htm?REF=/status.htm" correctly.
Selecting Select Profile brings up "browse.htm" window which is a blank window without the browsing capability shown on my other systems.
What I have done so far:
1) IE9 is set at default security levels same as the other sytem.
2) Uninstalled & reinstalled VVEngine
3) Turned off all firewall and AV protection
Only thing I have noted is when viewing browse.htm in File Manager is:
1) Working system displays the filename as browse.htm.vvengine and says that it opens with "Windows Shell Common Dll"
2) Failing system displays the filename as browse.htm and says that it opens with "Internet Explorer".
Both systems show the Type as "VVENGINE File" with same time stamp and file size.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks, |

Update on the debug process
1) I have examined the log files between the working on non-working system and they were the same other than the working one had profiles and non-working did not.
2) Created a VVEngine.xml file for the non-working system based on the working system for one profile. With this VVEngine.xml file VVEngine shows the profile and runs it successfully as scheduled. Two issues:
a) Still can not add a profile
b) While running the profile it will display page with "Unable to connect to VVEngine ...". If I refresh the page it correctly shows the current status. Display of error message is tied to the Auto-refress setting. At normal it occurs about every 7 seconds. Fast and slow settings change it to shorter and longer times.
3) Changed settings to allow connection to non-working system from another computer. From the other computer I am able to access VVEngine webpage and have been able to add profiles. I can access them on the non-working system and change all parameters.
I have also confirmed that I am running IE9 32bit.

It seems the issue could be with the content of the folder HTML , in the VVEngine installation folder. The files there should all be with extension .html.vvengine , excluding the file favicon.ico

All of the files in the folder have an extension of "VVEngine" and the filetype already shows as a VVENGINE file.
Changing the "*.htm" to ".html" results in the sytem not working and file not found errors. Appending a ".vvengine" to either "*.htm" or "*.html" also results in no function at all.

I removed and reinstalled VVEngine already as noted in my first post. I will try again but I do not think this is the issue as VVEngine is running correctly as far as processing the profiles.
Problem seems to be more related to correct display while processing (i.e., need to refresh the screen manually to see status) and ability to add profiles. Both of these operations work correctly when viewed from a different computer.
Could there be some setting in IE9 that needs to be corrected?
Thanks, |

Ah, maybe it's a JavaScript issue in IE9. Could it be JavaScript or some of the JavaScript functions are disabled in IE9? Are both identical computers using IE9? I am not sure if you can do that, but I would try using FireFox or Google Chrome to see if it's indeed a browser issue. thanks! _________________ --

Hi, were you able to find the cause of this issue? I have been trying to re-create the issue on a Windows 7 64bit + IE9, but VVEngine seems to work fine. thanks _________________ --
